Prominent Ear Surgery
If you have concerns about the extent that your ears “stick out” then you may be a candidate for otoplasty. Surgical correction of prominent ears or otoplasty may give you the appearance that you desire. The scars are well hidden behind the ears.
This procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure. After the operation a protective dressing is placed and worn when sleeping for 2 weeks. During the day a headband can be worn. Prescription for pain medication will be provided. A patient can usually return to work after a week depending on your occupation. Follow up is performed one week, one month and 3 months after surgery.
